7 Nov 2018 Do Your Research and Vote

Last night, we watched the mid-term elections. Although the Republicans gained strength in their process of maintaining the Senate, they lost control of the House. It wasn't a Blue Wave, by any means, but our side lost the House of Representatives.

In Oregon, the right side didn't fare as well. Although Kate Brown won, it was rather close. And on ballot measures, all seemed to go towards the left. This isn't surprising.

The lesson to take from this is that your side doesn't always win. Normal people don't riot, scream towards the sky, or protest. Normal people that respect the democratic republic go to bed, wake up the next day, go to work, and carry on with their lives. We accept the outcomes and respect the process. We also don't let a politician or ballot measure control how we deal with life, or function in society.

I am very interested in following politics...usually year round. I am enjoying what President Trump has done for us so far. When President Obama was in office, he had, what seemed to me, launched daily attacks on our country. This was frustrating, but America survived and so did its people.
